Miami Sail Week Regatta – March 15-16
The 420 Race Team showed great improvements again and broke into the top 10 overall. The weather was sporty with 12-20 kts winds both weekends and with Biscayne Bay for a race course, what more could a sailor want? A great new feature for this regatta was the MetaSail tracker issued to each boat, which provided (unofficial) boat positions and overall statistics per race.

C420 FL State Championship Youth Regatta – February 08-09
This was a very big event for Melbourne Yacht Club to host. There were 35 boats entered, amounting to 70 sailors from 10 yacht clubs. 50 volunteers under the
direction of Regatta Chairman David Noble were involved in delivering their very best to make this event happen. And judging from the feedback it was an overwhelming success!
We are very proud of our C420 sailing team and Coach Gonzalo Crivello. The team had 6 boats in the top 12 of 35 finishes. Our MYC sailors, Ethan Youngsma and Hans Csaszar, finished on the podium.
C420 Midwinters Championship
This event is held annually on President’s Day weekend at the US Sailing Center of Martin County in Jensen Beach. After two days of qualifying rounds with 141 boats, our team achieved a phenomenal result with 3 boats sailing the championship round in Gold Fleet, 6 boats in Silver Fleet, and 1 in Bronze Fleet! The Gold fleet boats were Ethan Youngsma & Hans Csaszar (finishing 26th overall), Kaeman Floyd & Harper Aberman (32nd overall), and Julia Cohen-Pinsky & Jack Allen (45th overall). Additionally, Sam Hayes & Tully Domin finished in 2nd place in the Bronze Fleet (96th overall) and received a medal.

Halloween Howler
We attended the Halloween Howler, hosted by the Coconut Grove Sailing Club. Our C420 team had an amazing showing! Our MYC C420 team sent 8 boats to compete against 39 competitive C420s, and all 8 of our boats ended up in the top half of the fleet with Ethan Youngsma (skipper) and Hans Csaszar (crew) and Julia Cohen-Pinsky (skipper) and Jack Allen (crew) leading the team and finishing up in the top 10! Great job to all of the sailors who participated!
