Busy Summer for our 420 Youth Sailors

Several of our youth traveled to three different events this summer.

C420 Women’s North American Championship

Two all female teams attended the NA Championship. 47 boats participated in the clinic and regatta at the Wianno Yacht Club in Massachusetts. After 9 races, Julia Cohen-Pinsky & Harper Aberman finished 13th and Penelope Mahajan & Mae Allen finished 28th.

C420 US Nationals

Five MYC teams sailed in the C420 US Nationals at the Hyannis Yacht Club in Cape Cod, where 148 boats competed for the national title. The sailing area was almost 3 nm off the coast of Hyannis harbor. After the first two days of racing, we had two boats in the Gold fleet and three in the Silver fleet. The third day of the regatta saw 6 foot swells and 16-18 kts winds. Overall results included Kaemen Floyd & Hans Csaszar in 45th, Julia Cohen-Pinsky & Harper Aberman in 71st, Harmon Csaszar & Phinley Boyd in 85th, Alex Delamarter & Eli Simpson in 97th, and Desmond Jason & Sam Hayes in 112th.

C420 Maine State Championship

After US Nationals, three MYC boats traveled further north to Portland, ME, for the C420 2025 Maine State Championship. After two days of unusually light winds, MYC swept the podium with Kaemen Floyd & Hans Csaszar taking 1st, Alex Delamarter & Eli Simpson taking 2nd, and Harmon Csaszar & Phinley Boyd taking 3rd place. There might be a New England residency requirement instituted for next year’s regatta…
